I took some photos for some friends of their two-year-old daughter Maddy and newborn son Samuel (Post of that shoot available here!) Working with kids is tough!
The top two tips I can give for shooting little kids are 1: get down to their level… or lower. And 2: Always be ready to fire off a few shots (to catch those subtle expressions). Other than that, it’s pretty much complete chance
